Clinical experience. Operational perspective.

The bedside is my starting point.

A decade in emergency medicine and ultrasound leadership, with a practical view of how clinical technology gets used.

Working where medicine meets implementation

My career has included emergency ultrasound fellowship training at Carolinas Medical Center and three ultrasound directorships. Two involved establishing divisions from the ground up, from equipment selection and archiving to credentialing, quality assurance, and clinician training.

I have performed or reviewed several thousand scans across academic and community departments. I continue to practice emergency medicine in community settings, where the pressure of everyday clinical work puts technology to the test.

I founded The POCUS Preceptor to support training and program design. My work also includes clinical advisory for device, AI, and software teams, support for investors and health systems, and writing about where the field is heading.

The recurring challenge is the operational layer: credentialing, quality review, documentation, billing, and tools that fit clinicians’ working lives. This is the connection I help teams build.
